Well, after almost ordering a new voltage regulator (see earlier post)$130, I discovered what looks to be the problem. The negative battery terminal had come loose. I tightened it down and the problem of flickering lights seems to be gone. Thanks for all the help. There is a rule in mechanical problem sovlving that I seem to always forget. Always look for the easy fix first. Most of the time a mechanical problem is caused by something simple.
